Occupying her own lane at the intersection of alt-country and indie-folk, Lucy Parle is a melodic singer-songwriter whose heartfelt storytelling and luminous vocals feel equally at home on acoustic stages and indie playlists. Often described as “the Australian Taylor Swift,” Lucy pairs confessional lyricism with warm guitar and piano textures, crafting songs that ache with honesty while still feeling fresh and modern.

Her gift for songwriting has earned recognition both at home and abroad. In 2020, Lucy won first place in the Teen Category at the International Songwriting Competition for her song ‘Back Up’, alongside Australian category winners Birds of Tokyo, Mia Wray, The Presets and Merci, Mercy. She has twice been named Youth Songwriter of the Year and was awarded Folk/Acoustic Songwriter of the Year by the Australian Songwriters Association, along with multiple honours from the Tamworth Songwriters Association.

Recognised as a standout songwriter on triple j Unearthed High in 2020 and 2021, Lucy’s debut single ‘Crayon Sun’ charted in the Unearthed Top 100, and every release since has landed on major Apple Music editorial playlists. In 2022, she was selected by Australasian Music Publishers Association Limited and Music Publishers Canada for an international songwriting collaboration, co-writing ‘Mountains’ with Oscar Dawson of Holy Holy and Canadian artist Jeremy Voltz.

A compelling live performer, Lucy has supported artists including Didirri, Ash Grunwald, Germein, Greta Stanley, Casey Barnes, Alex Lloyd, 1927 and Mahalia Barnes, while receiving radio play nationally and internationally.

Mentored by John Watson through Eleven Music and the Australian Independent Record Labels Association Women in Music Mentor Program, as well as Golden Guitar winners Gina Jeffreys and Rod McCormack, Lucy continues to refine her craft.

After a short hiatus to focus on growth, Lucy returned with three EPs titled Words I Should’ve Said and is now recording new music with Kasey Chambers and Brandon Dodd at The Rabbit Hole Recording Studio, and Jack Nigro at Sonora Studios, preparing her strongest releases yet.

With a growing catalogue, national radio support and songs that cut straight to the heart, Lucy Parle is fast becoming one of Australia’s most exciting emerging voices in country-tinged indie pop.
